Committees

MAMA maintains multiple standing committees comprised of members of the Board of Directors and general membership.  If you are interested in joining or otherwise contributing to one of these committee, contact MAMA's Executive Director.

Conference Committee

The charge of the Conference Committee is to plan, organize, and coordinate all aspects of the MAMA Annual Conference for membership, except for selecting the region of the state for the conference to be held. This selection will be made by the MAMA Board of Directors. This would include but not limited to site location options, hotel coordination, development of the conference agenda/sessions/speakers, registrations, sponsorships, conference events, AV needs, and conference marketing. The Conference Committee will provide monthly updates at the MAMA Board of Directors Meetings and as necessary.

Emerging Leaders Committee

The charge of the Emerging Leaders Committee is to cultivate future MAMA leaders through knowledge sharing, educational opportunities, networking, and mentorship. The Committee members will be under the age of 35 and/or have less than 10 years in the aviation industry. The meetings of the Emerging Leaders Committee will be open to all MAMA members and perspective committee members. The Emerging Leaders Committee will provide monthly updates at the MAMA Board of Directors Meetings and as necessary.

Environmental Affairs Committee

The charge of the Environmental Committee is to research and develop environmental policy positions for approval by the Board of Directors on issues such as noise, air quality, water quality, PFAS, waste management, endangered species/wildlife, and environmental review processes. The Environmental Affairs Committee will provide monthly updates at the MAMA Board of Directors Meetings and as necessary.

Executive Committee

The charge of the Executive Committee is to act on behalf of the Board and provide monthly updates any actions taken at the MAMA Board of Directors Meeting and as necessary. The Committee will be composed of the Officers of the Association and the immediate past president.

Legislative Committee

The charge of the Legislative Committee is to provide membership with details of pending state/federal legislation and coordinate with the Massachusetts Aviation Caucus. The Legislative Committee shall advise the MAMA Board of Directors with recommendations for action concerning any particular item of legislation on which MAMA should adopt a position. The Legislative Affairs Committee will provide monthly updates at the MAMA Board of Directors Meetings and as necessary.

Marketing Committee

The charge of the Marketing Committee is to develop a marketing and outreach strategy for approval by the MAMA Board of Directors. The Marketing Committee will then follow the strategy to promote MAMA activities/communications and statewide aviation events through various media platforms such publications, websites, and social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, QR Codes, X, and Instagram). The Marketing Committee will provide monthly updates at the MAMA Board of Directors Meetings and as necessary.

Nominating Committee

The charge of the Nominating Committee is to work with the Association membership to identify individuals interested in election to the MAMA Board of Directors in accordance with the MAMA By-Laws prior to the MAMA Annual Conference. This will consist of a list of candidates of both Airport-type and Corporate-type directors, each to be utilized during the elections to be held at the Annual Conference. Once the incoming MAMA Board of Directors is elected, the Nominating Committee will work with the incoming Board of Directors members to develop a slate of Officers for the following Association year to be voted upon by the full membership of the Association at the Annual meeting. The Nominating Committee will provide updates at the MAMA Board of Directors Meetings as necessary. The Committee will be composed of the Executive Director, immediate past president and one additional MAMA member appointed by the President.

Scholarship Committee

The charge of the Scholarship Committee is to promote the MAMA Crocker Snow Scholarship through seeking candidates, processing applications and recommending recipients for the scholarship to the MAMA Board of Directors for consideration. The Scholarship Committee will provide monthly updates at the MAMA Board of Directors Meetings and as necessary.
